For beliefs that aren’t metaphysically or ethically significant, I generally pick whatever’s most fun to believe. I don’t think the earth being round or flat inherently has either ethical or metaphysical ramifications (that is to say, I think I can believe basically everything I do now in every domain other than the scientific regardless of how the earth looks.

That being said, it’s incredibly fun to shake my head and say “you globeheads just won’t give it up” when my friends say anything alluding to the alleged curvature of the earth or the heliocentric model. Additionally, I very much like to claim that I will “crush big globe.” However, there may be things that are more fun about believing the contemporary model, and I was wondering what you all could point out in that regard.

Please note: scientific evidence will not convince me either way. Empirical truth has no bearing on what I will choose. Also, please note I will raise my children to fervently believe whatever I end up choosing.
