The main message of this video is to demonstrate how on a FLAT plane you can see farther as you raise your altitude. By raising your viewing position you are increasing the angular size of things in the distance allowing you to see further things. After a certain amount of distance the atmosphere gets too thick to see things clearly and eventually at all. We are indoctrinated to believe that seeing further means we live on a ball. source
